Fabric covered buildings
Our fabric hall is the well-known WiikHall, built with a structure of aluminium or steel and plastic sheeting. It is a versatile structure that can be used for almost anything and filled with whatever one wishes. It comes in many different varieties and with a range of additional equipment.
Solid – all-purpose
The WiikHall, with its truss structure in supporting frames, can be supplied in different varieties. We stock a large number of arches, which ensures short delivery times.
For us, it is important that the hall looks good, and that its blends in well with existing buildings near the site where it is set up. That is why it is built with a standard gable roof structure. All in all, it looks like an ordinary building – and in many cases, it works just like a completely permanent building.
Flexible in use
The WiikHall is used for many different purposes, ranging from emergency aid purposes to sports events and other gatherings.
Ultimately, the name is determined by the additional equipment that is included, the business or the people that use it.
Designed in accordance with Norwegian and EU standards
O.B. Wiik’s storage halls with hot-dip galvanised steel frames are designed in accordance with NS-EN-1990 (reliability requirement), NS-EN-1991-3 (snow loads), NS-EN-1991-4 (wind loads) and NS-EN-1993 (design of steel structures), and comply with further national requirements. O. B. Wiik’s aluminium structures are designed in accordance with EURO code 9 part 1-1, Design of Aluminium Structures-Part 1-1 general rules – General rules and rules for buildings.
Hot-Dip galvanised steel
The skeleton of the storage halls is a so-called self-supporting truss structure that gives the hall low weight and high stability. The steel in the structure is hot-dip galvanised, ensuring a longer lifespan for the hall. The structure will be just as solid one or thirty years from now and retain a high second-hand value.
The sheeting is approved by the Norwegian Fire Research Laboratory (SINTEF). The sheet has one of the market’s highest values for tearing and tensile strength, and is supplied with a five-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
Climatic conditions -30º + 70ºC
To the naked eye, an O.B. Wiik storage hall looks the same regardless of location – but we make sure to adapt our solid basic structure to suit local climate conditions.
A tired and true tensioning system
The sheet is tensioned using O.B. Wiik’s tried and true tensioning system that reduces wear and tear from strong winds and difficult weather, and extends the lifespan of the hall. The system ensures that sheet surfaces are taut and stabile.
O.B. Wiik constructs and delivers drawings for foundations and other requirements for putting the hall into operation.
