UNICEF, Ethiopia – 2 new WiikHalls 25 x 40 meter installed in Addis Ababa

For the past 25 years UNICEF Ethiopia has been operating a warehouse facility in Addis Ababa. UNICEF had for a long time discussed new warehouse facilities due to the fact that large quantities of supplies remained in open storage and consequently were exposed to a high risk of damage.

Construction of 2 WiikHalls each 25 x 40 meter with cargo doors was completed in February 2010, and in May 2010 the 2 new warehouses delivered by O. B. Wiik was officially inaugurated by dignitaries from the Ethiopian government, the Norwegian government and UNICEF. UNICEF is more than satisfied with the 2 new WiikHalls, and the benefits are multiple; - what was once a totally disorganised warehouse is now one of the best organised warehouses in UNICEF. Not only has the day to day running and storage capabilities dramatically improved there has also been an added bonus. Despondent and lethargic warehouse staffs have been re-energised and now have a daily professional pride in their work and working environment.
